  Aqualegia
Clouded Images
November 2001

Clouded Images is my first exploration of a relationship between Krycek and Skinner.
Although it took me a long time to write, I'm very pleased with they way it turned
out... some angst, some hurt, and some nice comfort.

Aries
Not on My Watch 4: Remember Me
1999

Heartbroken, vengeful, sweet, patient!Alex. Lost, confused, frustrated!Fox.
The boys dwell in their own separate hells for a while.
Destiny and enduring love bring them back together and see them through.

  Batela
White Picket Fences
December 1999

Skinner as a foster dad to five-year-old twin Krycek clones while trying to
set up house with Mulder is a hell of a lot of fun!

Bertina
Porn Star
October 2001

It's my favorite because it was a present to one of my favorite authors, Ursula,
who was a big inspiration for me to write.

Beth
Trust
2001

Probably the darkest thing I've written, but it was the closest I ever managed
to get to how it originally sounded in my head; I'm proud of that.

Brenda Antrim
So Many Monsters, Weapon & Retrieval
December 1996--February 2001

I like the series because with them I tried to make sense of the show without
denying any of it, use canon and create believable relationships between the
characters. They span events in the show from Tunguska to This is Not Happening
(4th through 8th season).

  Catrina Marlow
Slowdance
2001

My first ever music fic. I heard the song and the fic just wrote itself.
Every time I need reminding of how I write Mulder/Skinner X-Files slash,
I read it. And listen to the song.

Chad Skywalker
Faith
Spring 2002

This story, which began life as an outline five years ago, is very dear
to my heart. I felt very confident about my writing, and found myself
caught up in the exciting story as well as enjoying the M/SK romance
and the character of Faith.

Cody Nelson
Il Traviato
March 1997

My second-longest X-Files story, I got to include some conspiracy,
some case work, Mulder-Scully interaction, lots of angst, lots of sex...
a little bit of everything. And a happy ending!

Courtney Gray
Players (Part 3 of How to Throw A Curve Ball)
August 1999

I wanted Krycek in a designer tuxedo. Sounds so frivolous now.
Not that I regret it, of course. Hell, he looks damn good in one.

Czeri
Pornography's No Good For You
Leather & Armani, 2000

It's a favourite because I think it's the best one I have written
and I'm not as horribly embarrassed when I read it as I am reading others.

  Debra Fran Baker
Balancing Act
1998

While it is in a series of stories, I believe it stands alone. It has one of
my most complex plots, combining a serial killer, the established relationships
between both Mulder and Skinner as lovers and Mulder, Skinner and Scully as
friends and includes some of my favorite original characters.

Demi-X
Life, limb, and eight days living dangerously.
October 1999

This is my favorite 'straight' X-files story (no pun intended) because
#1, it is a narrative, and #2, it's from Alex's POV. I have always been fascinated
with Terma/Tunguska and I always wondered what happened at the in between times.

Diana Williams
Slave of my Heart
July 1999

This story combines two of my loves--The X-Files and Medieval history,
and allowed me to do interesting new things with the characters.

Dot
A Merry Little Christmas
December 2001

It's Christmas, and everybody brings Skinner presents... isn't that enough?

  Elizabeth Marshall
Therapy
November 2001

I've always thought that Walter must recognize that Alex needs serious
psychological help. I'm proud of this story because it neither minimizes
Alex's pain, nor denies the power of love to heal.

  Fan4Richie
Pulped
2000

Pulped is my most unique foot forward. There's nothing like it that I've ever read.
It's humor, which is a rare category in X-Files slash. It was a kick to write
and I had a great beta. Okay, I have to admit forty feedback letters didn't hurt
my positive feelings either.

Fan4Richie
Collaboration with Jennie
Uneasy Rider
2001

I love it because hey, where else can you get Mulder, tarred and foam rubbered?
Jennie and I laughed so hard writing it that we could hardly stop to get the story done.

Forbes
The Letter D for Doggett
August 2001

I suppose I'd have to go with the first Letter story--the idea of Doggett falling
down the pink rabbit-hole of a relationship with another man still makes me chuckle.

Frankie
Fairy Tales and Other Lies
June 1999

This was written for a challenge, and I like that it was different from the
other responses. Also, it's non-schmoop, which is very unusual for me.

frogdoggie
Baton Rouge
August 1999

Baton Rouge is my favorite because it flowed out like warm honey, it was the first
slash novel I wrote, and Skinner was a virgin in it.

  Gaby
Warrior
November 2001

This is the first time I wrote a "serious" Krycek. I enjoyed exploring the Rat's
character, his background, and playing with the psychological angle which leads
to the final scene.

Goddess Michele
How I Spent My Summer Vacation
2001

Not only my longest story to date, but also one that generated a lot of favorable reviews.
I enjoyed trying different formats in each chapter, and think I finally found
the true voices of Mulder and Skinner... and the soundtrack rocks!

  Jami
Touch My Mind
January 2002

This is my favorite because: the setting felt vivid and the interactions and
dialogue between them were poignant while still within canonical characterization.
It was very personal to write, and yet the most fun. It wrote itself!

Jami
Collaboration with Jennie
Strange Crossroads
October 2001

I really enjoyed the interaction between the characters in this story. They had
a life of their own, and having Matthew there to help Mulder and Krycek with
their issues--and in such a fun way--was so enjoyable.

jamwired
In the Silence Before & Silence
2001

Although the stories are both just short snippets--one a PWP--I think they're a bit more poetic
and flow better than my other X-Files stories.

Jane Symons
Why Comes Temptation But For Man To Meet
1996

I've written better but it's my favourite because it's mercifully short and because
I had such anarchic delight in coupling two characters so unsuited to each other.

Janet F. Caires-Lesgold
Singing in the Dead of Night
August 1999

This is the second story in my Arrows universe, and is a sequel to Arrows of Desire.
After M&K have expressed mutual desire in the first story, this is where they are forced
to spend some time together as Alex heals from an injury, and their relationship truly begins.

Jennie
The Morning After the Night Before
September 2000

Morning After was my second XF story, and first in the Morning Variations series.
Though I was in an altered state of consciousness when I wrote it (hadn't slept in
about a week), I clearly recall sitting at the computer at 3 A.M., giggling madly,
writing the phone converstation.

Jennie
Collaboration with Ursula
Uneasy Rider
May 2001

Urs and I wrote this one for Pollyanna's Undercover Lyric Wheel. I laughed until
I cried every time I got a new section from Urs. I can't even begin to tell you how
much fun I had writing UE.

JiM
Settling
1999

It was my first attempt to write a pairing I didn't believe in or care for.
It's also a tribute to my own bad temper. Some awful (IMHO) Sk/K fic had come out
and I thought I could do better. In the end, I fell in love with this pairing.

Jo B
Hermaphrodite
December 2001

I like this story because it's one of my few that has an ending.

Josan
In Death, There Is Life
January 2002

2001 wasn't a great year and I needed a good cry. Couldn't find a heart-wrenching
story, so I wrote one. No, I don't own shares in Johnson & Johnson.

Julie Morningstar
Keepsakes
September 2001

Keepsakes is my favorite story because it is complete as is... I tend to be a
long-winded writer and I have a hard time finishing stories--or anything for that matter.
So I set out to write something that could stand alone, and I did! Yeah!

  Lady Midath
Past Tenses
2002

The very first in the Past Series is my personal favourite simply because
the dynamics between Skinner, Mulder and Krycek have always facinated me.
This story shows how people can change... and in time, heal.

Laura Jacquez Valentine
Fade and Sustain
September 2000

I like the structure of it, and the effect of texture and sound on the whole story.

L.C. Sulla
Junksick
July 2001

This one meant a lot to me personally, and took a lot out of me to write,
so I'm reasonably proud of it. And it got a large response, which was wonderful.

Lorelei
Boy
November 2001

Boy is the biggest risk I've taken as an author. I wanted to do something
different, something raw and visceral. It's the first really hard-edged BDSM story
I've written as well as my first attempt at writing first-person present tense.
It's a risk I'm very glad I took.

Loren Q
Spam
November 2000

Spam is absurd. My muse was firing these seemingly disconnected ideas but,
with Louise's help, I pulled together a story. It's unlike anything else I've written,
except that Krycek is so not a nice guy.
It's funny, mean and still has me rolling when I think about it.

Louise Wu
Echo Lane
March 2001

I loved interleaving the two stories. Loved Mulder's shock, embarrassment and
inevitable attraction. Loved writing about the moment that slipped past them.
Most of all, loved the way it changed him and Alex.

Louise Wu
Collaboration with Zoe Takashi
Exigency
June 2000

My first method writing experience... it changed us both. We fought, lusted and loved.
It was real somehow. Still is. On a baser level, it was such a turn-on, becoming
Walt and fucking Zoe's Alex!

  M. Butterfly
The Taming of the Fox
May 1999

It combines two of my fave things: M/Sk slash and Shakespeare. Even though it's
quirky, it earned me the most positive feedback, so I guess I like it, too!

mocomab
Depravity
February 1999

It's not my usual. The sex is mostly het, it's the smuttiest and the most fun to
write. It started life as a challenge, but I'm so slow that it was over long before
I finished. It's also the only thing I've written that actually pays attention to canon!

  Nicole S
Chisli
1999

I am most proud of my Chisli series and think it's some of my best work.
Mulder/Krycek, an alternate ending to Season 6--what more can you ask for?

  Orithain
Performances I: Command Performance
November 1998

This was the first time I wrote anything that was actually angsty.

  Peach
His Master's Voice
May 2001

It's my favorite because it's real to me, they keep talking to me. I took Skinner
and Krycek into what was almost virgin territory i.e. Krycek's Master to Skinner's slave.

  Ratadder
Straightforward
2001

Raven
Undercover
February 2001

This is my favorite because I think it's pure romance. It was a different kind
of story for me, and my first long piece, but for me, it's the romance that
makes this special. It's old-fashioned, almost, and I love it.

Russianrat
Sterling Silver
January 2000

Inspired by The Shawshank Redemption. Like the movie, with its theme of hope
and freedom, the story makes me cry at the end. 1940's AU with Redeemed Alex.

  Sarah Bellum
Fish Called Krycek
1997

I hate this story. I think it's the weakest, dumbest story I've ever
written, but it gets me the most feedback. I'm a whore for feedback.

Satina
Collaboration with Orangy
Breathe
September 2001

Breathe has a magic to it. She sent me her stunning opening scene, which I loved
instantly and responded to, which she responded to... until it was done. We finished
it in two days, and thus began a new obsession for both of us.

Sebastian
Another Me
1999?

Sleeps with Coyotes
Solidarity
1998

Because I got to play with viruses, aliens, serials, conspiracies, and backstory,
and Alex got to wear a cool suit.

Sylvia
The Gift of an Enemy
1998

I'm fond of Gift for turning out a novel rather than just a very long story.
Also, I like to think that I reached my goal of writing a realistic Mulder/Krycek
relationship, psychologically speaking--in spite of occasional melodrama
(and, of course, the deus ex machina ).

  Tarlan
Waiting For The Axe To Fall
September 1998

Probably because it was my first M/K and because it was written when I had plenty
of time to write novel-length stories and was still wide-eyed with wonder after
discovering Internet fandom.

Te
Trust
1999

It allowed me to make some sense out of one of CC's more bizarre plot devices,
while proving (to myself at least) that I could write something longer than a vignette.
Also, it's one of the few XF stories of mine that I don't loathe, all these years later.

Torch
Lovers
April 1998

Tosca
Axis
February 2002

I haven't written much X-Files but I think this sequel to Peripetia is
my best fanfiction so far. Close-to-cannon Walter shooting straight from the hip
with no illusions and no excuses, but also with hope for the future--an element
I consider essential in a story.

  Viridian5
Behind the Wheel
October 1998

Presenting a regular person's less rosy look at Mulder and Krycek, taking place
in real locations that people occasionally write me to smile about, this story
has my lingering affection.

Vyper
Release Me
December 00

Was the first time I wrote M/CSM. Was also the first fic I wrote purely for me,
without worrying what others would think of it. Received lots of great feedback
that I hadn't expected and made some great friends.

  Wildy
Come to Grief
July 2001

It's my fave because it's better structured than the others. And because it's very cruel.

  Xanthe
A Man of Two Truths
October 2000

Such a difficult story technically but it flowed so easily--one of the best writing
experiences of my life! I'm also really proud of the way I used canon.

  Zoe Takashi
It Has to Be You
May 2001

I picked this story because it's very unlike anything else I've done. It was also
written entirely stream of consciousness. A new experience for me. Fortunately,
it's short so my consciousness didn't have to stream for long.

Zoe Takashi
Collaboration with Louise Wu
Exigency
June 2000

This was an easy choice. While every story I've co-written is very special to me,
this is the story that got me started in creative writing. Writing with Louise
is something I was meant to do. We share the same brain sometimes and
it shows in what we've produced.
